Apache Cordova or what was called previously Apache Callback or PhoneGap. More specifically, It is a framework which is classified as an open source project. It allows users to create several applications for different platforms (As for Android and IOS....).

Applications developed thanks to this tool are hybrid, that is mean that they are not really native, neither based on HTML language or such an equivalent one.

About my sixth contribution to the project Cordova, the difficulty of each one is actually softened since you get more used to the new mechanisms of the beta version. One of the challenges that I came by -as usual, I guess- was the terms between <0> and </0>, some of them are translatable and some aren’t (concatenated technical terms) which is always a bit confusional: whether keep the original version or actually translate them. The few terms contained in the next section are actually some of the examples I came by.

This contribution’s difficulty resides in the use of technical terms and others rather more related to their context than to the general use. My research led me to choose what I saw would fit in the correct context imposed by the project’s specifications. Some examples are as follows :

FullPath:

A path, the general form of the name of a file or directory, specifies a unique location in a file system. A path points to a file system location by following the directory tree hierarchy expressed in a string of characters in which path components, separated by a delimiting character, represent each directory. Thus the French equivalent “Chemin Absolu” instead of “Chemin Complet”, since it’s an idiom.

Bitrate:

Bitrate, as the name implies, describes the rate at which bits are transferred from one
location to another. In other words, it measures how much data is transmitted in a given amount of time.
