Photo Fun Contest: No Gas Needed

What you’re seeing is not a stagecoach from a movie set but a large buggy travelling on the Trans Canada Highway in New Brunswick. Canada.

It’s a big buggy hauled by two horses and driven by a man from the Amish or Mennonite culture.

if you look in the window, there is a little hand against the glass.





Later I saw who’s little hand was pressed against the window.





A man and two young girls were in the buggy. He has stopped in a field near the town’s grocery store and tied the horses to a telephone pole while they go about their business.

The man is wearing a wide brimmed light coloured hat and the two girls are wearing the traditional bonnets and long dark dresses. I’ve only seen them in dark blue or black clothes.

I haven’t seen that big a buggy, hauled by two horses, on the highway here on PEI. Perhaps it is needed to bring produce to the farmers’ markets.
