Venezuelan protestors are not to blame for their own deaths

The guarimbas don't want peaceful resolution, as has been demonstrated in 2014 and a decade beforehand.

The guarimbas were mostly made up of entitled private catholic school thugs, and violent protestors aren't martyrs. So who are the oppressors? They burned and brutally stabbed a man to death, and lynched countless others. That's why news like this isn't on the TV.

This is my response to the previous comment, originally posted as a direct reply.

First of all, I'm not talking about the guarimbas but about the street manifestations where millions went to the avenues and highways together and demanded necessary changes. The guarimbas, however, weren't made of private catholic school thugs. The greateast percentage of them were actually the working class and the poor. The greatest amount of guarimbas were made in what are called "satellite cities" and towns where the people are the most miserable.

I was in the guarimbas and in the manifestations, and even though 95% of Venezuela is Catholic, I'm not, and most of my entourage isn't either, and we aren't and weren't "school thugs". Around me, most were the working class and university students. Most of the dead victims in the manifestations, very different from the guarimbas, and with more people representing them, were public university students ("private schools" end at 15-16 years of age).

They burned and brutally stabbed a man to death, and lynched countless others

I walked the front lines more times than I can count, and although in some rare cases I did see strange stuff being done by those around me (and we called them out and tried to stop them, as we don't like barbarity), most people were decent and truly and sincerely wanted to solve the problem of violence and oppression (ironically, our calls for peace were received with deadly repression, tear gas, imprisonment and ruthless torture and killings (by government forces, both military and paramilitary, as well as the police, although in the last days, even some regional police forces joined us in protest and protected us against the national police).

Also, Venezuelanalysis is funded by the government. The government always blames the opposition for any problem. They even blamed the opposition for killing the opposition with the government's guns ("they forced us to kill them!"). The government is also currently blaming a journalist for the current electrical blackout outage we are suffering (I've been following this journalist and he's very critical of the government, but he's not a saboteur).

Be careful of disinformation. I know that the opposition also has some blame in some affairs, but the government has the biggest responsibility in the killings of 2017 manifestations, as well as the repression that has followed in the years afterwards.

But you're right about something: we don't believe that a peaceful resolution can be achieved. Maduro cannot be talked with. Every time we have tried, he has never budged and has called for very disadvantageous terms that don't solve anything. When he says "dialogue", what he means is "delay". He is a human rights abuser and does not deserve to be dialogued with anymore.

Did you know that the human rights representative supported Maduro? She came today. When she came, she saw that Maduro had kidnapped a journalist yesterday. Despite her former blind support for Maduro, she is now demanding that Maduro free the journalist, and is examining the thousands of human rights abuses that are being presented to her by the families of the victims.

edit:

The reason why this triggers me so much is because I was there and I saw the people! Most of us were decent, and there were some broken people who would be violent regardless of what side they picked. Then the goverment started saying that WE were the ones that were "manipulating youngsters" into "risking their lives". They wouldn't be risking their lives if you weren't killing them, just saying, and everyone was going, it was so big a % of the general population that it was completely representative of the average demographics, and you can't just claim that most of the citizens in the country are "catholic private school thugs", that's just an irresponsible statement.
