New Inflation Projections for Venezuela for 2019 and the Unseen Consequences

Inflation....

Inflation numbers in Venezuela, at least for me on the inside have been a joke for years, 10.000%? 100.000%? 1.000.000%? and now the new number, which probably isn't that far off from reality, which is 10.000.000%, the IMF predicted an inflation of 1.000.000% for the country in 2018 and it's already expected that it is going to hit 1.350.000% by December... at a certain point for the locals, these numbers became meaningless, people are too busy trying to survive and feed their families to worry about economy. As one of my favorite teacher once said "You can't expect a person to worry about their constitutional rights with an empty stomach"

With a refugee count closing in to the 3.000.000 people, this is not only a economical catastrophe but a demographical catastrophe...

Another consequence of the ruinous economy even though this is barely reported on the news in or outside the country is the complete destruction of our ecosystem that is going on right now, in our amazonian states rivers are being polluted due to illegal miners trying to survive, alligators and crocodiles are being hunted down as food driving them into dangerous levels of population that could see them eradicated in just a few years and what hurts me the most... the macaws...

Over the years the macaws have been flooding into the city, the few researchers that talk about this assume it is due to the pollution in the rivers and the lack of food in their natural habitats and now they are being slowly hunted down to extinction too in the cities, hungry people are hunting them down and cooking them as if they were chicken... street dogs and cats are gone in the poorest zones of the cities... I imagine they have met with a terrible fate, just like the previously mentioned creatures...

It's pretty sad to see how most of the developing countries across the world are growing at healthy rates and see the country you where born plummet into chaos and not be able to do anything to change the outcome, that's why I've decided to leave...
