Verge Sets its Sites On Partnership With Paypal, Venmo & Spotify
In the last two months, there hasn't been a cryptocurrency more on its marketing campaigns than XVG, Justin and the team have been hard at work creating a media frenzy regarding what was said to be the biggest partnership in crypto history.
The hype was really building up to the announcement but has died down later after unveiling the Pornhub and Brazzer partnership, which disappointed many investors and this reflected in the stagnant price of the coin.

Since then Verge (XVG) has been trying hard to make more relevant partnerships, which started with signing up Traffic Junky. While not a major partnership in terms of the brand it offers quite a bit in terms of advertising and regular usage of the currency.

XVG has not stopped there and we're hearing new rumours that the cryptocurrency has been in talks with both Paypal and Venmo.
Verge on a partnership rampage in recent months
While there is no official statement indicating Verge is making behind the scenes move to capture Paypal and Venmo, a news reported that claimed it has in-house informants, indicated that “Verge is aggressively pursuing PayPal via their Venmo platform”.
The news source indicated that Venmo and Paypal is thinking of adding multiple cryptocurrencies to their platform with Verge at the forefront of being added.
“There is nothing in this industry like momentum, and we have it right now. It is powerful and is pumping adrenaline into the heart of this place right now,” the news publication claimed adding that, “Yes, we are pursuing any and all partnerships, but the payments partnerships are at the top of our list.”
“And not just TPay either. Venmo is on the ‘verge’ (lol) of doing some next level stuff and we are hitting them hard to be included. I feel good about the possibilities there, I will say that.”
“Venmo will announce something by the end of 2018 and the idea is to attempt to one-up Square by bringing 5-10 cryptos onto the platform right at the outset. I can confirm that Verge is seriously in the mix.”
Verge And Spotify on the cards?
Verge is trying hard to get a partner that can make the cryptocurrency more functional to consumers in the real and digital world by getting players that deal in high frequency purchases. A tweet by Cees Van Dam, a Verge’s core member responsible for recruitment and social media, called on Verge community to vote and campaign so that it can earn Spotify’s adoption. Could this be the next company in XVG's sites? Only time will tell I suppose!
Final thoughts
While I do feel Justin and XVG are riding the waves of PR and trying to leverage partner brand recognition in order to gain investor interest more than anything else I still think there is mert in this approach. Verges aggressive marketing campaigns can be seen as a template for blockchain companies who will need mainstream adoption in order to survive, scale and become a vested option in the industry niche it's trying to disrupt.
I personally hold a position on Verge and feel while it's not the biggest privacy coin on the market at the moment it does offer reasonable value to the market with speed of transactions to low fees and privacy with its so-called wraith protocal. If XVG can pen down its main USP which is the selective privacy option in conjunction with functional partnerships that will see token volumes incrase and the mining rewards halfing soon, then XVG could be in for a strong bull run towards the end of this year.
