Dear Diary: Don't oppress The Poor The Bible Says
It is God who creates the poor because if we are all rich there will be no one that would clean our toilets because we cannot hire anyone because they are already rich.
So God intends humanity to have a balance and harmonious relationship with each other and so we should just help the poor rather than making them feel helpless.
One good verse is:
Proverbs 19:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord,
And He will pay back what he has given.
