Red Green Style Lighting Solution - D00k13 Digest #178

in #vlog5 years ago

What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, last night hunting for decent lighting I picked up a bike light I found a while back quickly realizing it was to bright I attempted to come up with a solution. I made it work though I still require a little more Red Green style fine tuning to diffuse the light a little better it will work for night vlogging or any low light situation that may arise. Best part is it was all free, that is one dang bright light to just pickup off the ground!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!?!?

that was cool bro,and it will not hurt your eyes..

indeed it is nice to use that light on the darkness so you will not get visible 😊

Just need one more layer of masking tape on the lens to bring the brightness down slightly and it will be perfect!

Will be good for indoor use, we have terrible lighting here and most of my available time is before or after dark.... going to enjoy night walk vlogs that’s for certain 👍

Awesome DIY solution! You need more diffusion though it’s massively overexposing you where it’s still too bright. You can either put it further back or maybe try any white material, tissues work well for a temporary solution. Further away light will give more dramatic shadows and closer dimmer light will make super nice soft edged shadows. That’s why for headshots you have the lights so close (unless going for a certain look)

Yea another layer of masking tape should do, I could also make the exposure adjustment with the camera but I kind of like the over exposed night footage 😅 hard on the eyes though definitely adding another layer of diffusion.... then heading out to test it once again 😎 I’ll wear my sun glasses at night.

I did my response to @fabian98 and @coolguy222 with the second layer of diffusion and during early morning, it seemed to work out pretty well. Haven’t tested early morning yet but I plan to do that in the morning for my Dragging You Up With Me post.

So far I’m impressed with my little light as it really helps even for my indoor recording! Forgot to bring it with me for the moving my friend video though 🤦‍♂️

Well This looks a great solution for the lightin problem that many people (including me face) I'll definitely lighten up myself while I'll be shootin in the dark.

Thanks a lot for sharing Sir..

Cheers!

Simple and cheap, thank for stopping in 💪
