LIFE IN ROME | Let's get a tattoo? VLOG #2
Hey there! Ever wanted a giant eagle on your back? Me neither, but that doesn't change a fact that watching how it is being tattooed is so much fun!
This weekend I popped by a tattoo salon to visit a friend and to film how he creates his masterpieces. What you see, is almost a 5 hour work and it is only about 1/5 of the entire tattoo. It is going to be HUGE!
By the way, the arms of the guy being tattooed are also done by Mauro, so you can get the idea what the end result will be - SMASHING!

5 hours is a decent session! The longest I've sat for a tattoo is 6 hours and it was a struggle for sure, but there is definitely something undeniably addictive about getting ink!
woah, 6 hours of pain must bea real tough! But indeed, I also heard people say the same thing. That it becomes addictive! SO interesting. Mayeb for this reason I am a bit scared myself. What if I start and never stop? :D

I wouldn' t be the best perosn to give advice! I don' t have any tattoos myself! :D But for me it is all about why you want it. I will onyl make one if I want to commemorate something meaningful. :)

My first tattoo was at 40 years old i opted for a traditional bamboo, in the end i got 2 done 19 hours in total in my hotel room. I alo ended up with food poisoning after the food my tattooist brought i think the oysters had been left festering in the sun all day. But i don't regret getting my tattoos done.

I was on holiday in Phuket and my thai friend knew a guy who is a tattooist and works part-time after work so he came over to my hotel room and started to insert the bamboo into my body.
OMG this is amazing!!! He did the tattoo oldschool style, so so cool!!!!
My first tattoo was a year ago and I love it! I got so many different answers when I asked if it was gonna hurt or not, and it didn't hurt at all!
cool! I got to learn many interestign facts about tattoos while I was there. For example, I always thought that it hurts only when the bone is close to the skin but it turn out it also hurts in soft places as well. And then it all boils down to individual differences! You were lucky that it didn't hurt for you though! :))

and I would say until you do know what you won't don' t get it. :) When the eureka moment comes then get it! :) We have such fantastic artists in Latvia too!

It is! It' s around 13-15 degrees during the day, and lots of sun! Quite a contrast in respect to Riga! :D

Long story short, I am cosnidering of getting one once my experience here in Rome comes to an end. And if it has been something truly lifechanging I think I will commemorate it with a tiny tattoo. :D What about you??
Yeah, I don't have a tattoo at all. I was thinking about it, but you really have to be 100% sure to get one. Maybe one day you will come and say to the group: "hey guys! I have a tattoo!!!" :D
