My Vocab Practice

1.- I think many people who claim to have a democracy do not even have any idea what this means,

2.- The Spanish aristocracy still does not know that the kings have gone out of style!

3.-In the times of the old testament a theocracy reigned and was governed by the 10 commandments.

4.-Many of our countries, in Latin America, are being governed by a kleptocracy in which, without shame, and overlapping by the laws commit many crimes.

In today's world, it often seems like "democracy" is rule by the oligarchs. :-(

MY VOCAB PRACTICE:

  1. Britain's democracy is in rude health with voters actively participating in politics and elections held almost every year, allowing voters to feedback to the politicians.

  2. Members of the aristocracy tend to play down their status, going about in their oldest clothes, frequently wearing patched clothes previously owned by their grandparents.

  3. Iran is a theocracy with the highest position in the land occupied by an Ayatollah.

  4. Russia is a kelptocracy with members of the government demanding and getting shares in private companies without paying for them.
