GIVEN THE SECOND MANDATE TO FIX THE COUNTRY- RESCUE MISSION

The political atmosphere in the Africa most populous nation has been very unfavorable for the past three 3 years especially when you belong to the opposition party. |It has been a battle for supremecy, this is known around |Africa when the incumbent leader don't want to give out power easily especially to those who are against his political party called opposition and most times they always want to be the one to choose who succeeds them.This has been a tradition and most times when someone among the party gots high hopes of taking the number position and they got disappointed when the position to represent the party has been cut short, the best they can do is to defect to another party. Defection is a norm in a country like Nigeria.

Last week saw all the political parties conduct their primaries and it was a dramatic one across the federation. My post is about the key players in the nation's politics which the two big parties. Namely:

APC - All Progressive Congress
PDP - Peoples |Democratic Party

Let me go with the ruling party first, it happened that the party chairman disqualified every other candidate to enable the current president have a smooth ride, so a direct primary was conclude in all the 36 states of Nigeria and I was surprised to see an unopposed primaries with 14 million votes and this highly contradict the election result of 2015 general election which was not up to 10 million. |With this stastics, it has shown that the ruling party have plans of rigging the general election next years with that data cos it is obvious we should be expecting more as non party members will be at the poll to vote. The candidate representing the party at the presidential polls is the current president Muhammadu Buhari.

The Opposition party primaries was a keenly contested one as they had over ten individuals whom contest to be the party flag bearer. At the end, the former vice president of the nigeria Abubakar Atiku emerged as the winner of the poll. Now the citizens hopes are with the former vice president in a bid to turn the country around positively and remove all bad elements which has been eluding the country from progressing. He is not the best choice but at the moment, he remains the only candidate which will match the power house.

Election far approaching an everyone is keeping their heads up.
