Red and I are firm believers that Art can aide our children in Learning. In a post he wrote about six months ago, he mentioned how Art can be used to teach kindness and love. He said this in reference to our experience teaching music and arts to special kids. On September 2017, we went to Cecilio Apostol Elementary School for The Arts and Music Therapy Day which was a collaboration project of @steemph and the group Alinaga, spearheaded by @flabbergast-art. That was the first time I met Marlon and I was absolutely impressed at the way he was able to communicate with the kids. He has the skill of an artist and the patience of a kindergarten teacher. I personally witnessed him in action, his humble ways, his art, and his music.

I haven't seen Marlon since. He's been busy with Walk Of Hope, another project in collaboration with SteemPH wherein he will be going from town to town to teach, exhibit, and still even learn about music and arts. His first stop was in Dumaguete where he attended the first @steemph.negros meet-up. After which, he immediately went on his way to Bayawan where he was reunited with Tatay Dagsa, a co-artist and a friend who will accompany him in his walk. When these two are together, expect that they'll come up with all sorts of incredible things. They have given a new meaning to Walk Of Hope, for unlike Marlon's walk in 2012, this time there will be projects too. The first one was the Bamboo Planting in Bayawan, which was an absolute success. If you'd like to learn more about that, check out the links below.

They say "There's no rest for the wicked" so just imagine the ones who are propelled by good. After the bamboo planting, Marlon was again busy preparing for their 2nd project in Bayawan, an Art Workshop for kids. When I say busy, I don't just mean shopping for art materials, building a make-shift classroom out of bamboos is what I mean.

The workshop commenced on the 2nd of May and will run until the 19th. There are a total of 45 kids ages 6-14 years old who share the art materials that are provided for them. There is no fee to join the sessions and everyone is enjoying these art classes with Marlon which happen from Mondays through Saturdays, each kid having 3 sessions per week.

So far, they've covered Still Life, Portrait, and Human Figure.

I think these photos show so many wonderful times, and to think that Walk Of Hope has only just begun. Before Marlon and Tatay Dagsa leave Bayawan to continue the walk, they'll be handing out school supplies to underprivileged kids . The supplies will be thigs they can use for the incoming school-year this June. 100% of the liquid rewards this post will generate is to support the many projects of this noble walk. I will be keeping an eye on the developments of the walk and will share updates with you from time to time. I am happy to be a part of this cause in my own little way and if this inspires you, please reach out to @immarojas for ways you can help too. You can follow @walkofhope for updates on this project.

“Walk of Hope” is really great project! I absolutely agree with both of you, “Art can aid our children in Learning”, indeed.

It’s really creative idea that they built a make-shift classroom out of bamboos and I love those bamboos very much.

Those kids made wonderful arts, especially on the bamboos. ;)

Thank you my friend! I'm glad you like them! I also love their artworks and it looked like they had so much fun learning.

You're welcome! ;)

I think kids should really join these workshops to see if they have a hidden talent to hone and probably could be their career too one day. @dandalion

I couldn't agree more, Arnold! And it looks like they have talent in the Arts because they all turned in great works. Thank God for Steemit that makes projects like these possible.
