Cultural dance mixed with music and arts

in #walkofhope6 years ago (edited)

This video was taken in Bayawan City by @flabbergast-art during the cultural dance workshop that he was invited to come. @flabbergast-art went to Bayawan several months ago to share his knowledge about musical instruments. Then offered free summer workshop for the youth of Bayawan. The said project is a strong determination of @walkofhope team by the help of steemit Philippines community.

Its not only about music, arts or culture it also deals with the development of youth. Learning things at young age is the best phase to mold a child. Where interest can be boosted by the help of workshops and exposing them to certain activities.

Not to go further with my topic let me share a little idea about this video. Where Sir Jun one of the person in this event emphasize that every person is part of the culture. Then we are the medium to show what we have by means of painting, music, cultural dancing or any terms you are prefer to express your culture.

The movement and hand gestures during their performance reminds me of the Canla-on Theater group stage performer in Negros Occidental. To be honest I am not a fan of modern dance, I better love folk dancing, cultural and interpretative dance.Because here in Negros we have almost hundred of festivals from different towns, municipalities and cities . Where most of them portrays and preserve the early cultures of Negrosanon in facing adversities, hardships and difficulties, as well as abundance prosperity and sufficiency.

It is a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest as dancers move to the beat of drums, bamboo sticks, and others musical instruments. That's why I prefer this kind of expressing dancing moves though hip-hop is a trendy thing. Still fluid movement connected with amazing culture stands out for me. The sounds coming from these set of instruments feels heaven to me and relaxed my mental state, even my physical reflexes reacts perfectly.
