Todays journey takes me along the road from Boscastle towards Launceston in Cornwall UK. I will be stopping along the way at a holy well called St Clethers. Legend has it that a holy man from Ireland lived as a hermit on this part of bodmin moor in a remote chapel almost hewn from the granite rockface behind it.

The tiny little chapel is found after a good walk from the rear of the local church yard at the village of St Clethers. The path winds down from the church through fields and the little chapel is almost hidden until your almost on top of it, and when i arrived inside the atmosphere was one of serenity tranquility and peace.

The altar is made from three huge chunks of granite and underneath the altar and running across the church runs a small channel where once the holy water flowed, this then runs into another well at the other side and on the outside of the church.
This is a very magical spot.
