Perspectives of Hardfork 22?

Wait... Isn't it Hardfork 21 coming upon us at the end of the month? Yes it is, I haven't mixed them up.

And while HF21 will most likely be disruptive in some ways, not all users will enjoy those disruptions, initially. Investors on the other hand, developers, they might see the potential way before others do...

But I'm speculating right now, before we actually see the effects.

Because HF20 was supposed to fix onboarding through the introduction of resource credits (RCs), and that problem still exists, even though I believe the introduction of RCs was necessary.

Onboarding, however, might be significantly improved after HF22. Not right away, but the foundation for that will be created then. Or at least that's what I keep hearing.

You might have heard of Steem light accounts. Well, people say that light accounts doesn't really describe what they would be, but they might be introduced in HF22 as Steem wallet addresses, freely and instantly to create, unlike the premium and not free Steem accounts.

These Steem wallet addresses could be used just like bitcoin addresses to send and receive STEEM (even look quite the same way).

So, when someone would need to receive STEEM, and then to spend it or withdraw it, or whatever, such a wallet could be created instantly and at no cost.

In terms of Steem wallet addresses, Steemian numbers could grow exponentially in a short time. Of course, only part of them will be interested in the social aspect of Steem, and get a username, which costs and has the usual RC limitations.

But enough applications can be built that only need Steem wallet addresses. Not Steem usernames. In fact, some applications are already built, and to easily integrate with SMT, for example, users need at least such Steem wallet addresses, not necessarily Steem usernames.

So, if HF22 will be for SMT, I see Steem wallet addresses as a natural addition to it.
