Crazy Painting Challenge Unit #3: Sporemines and Ur-Ghuls - finished

in #warhammer5 years ago

Hello everyone,

I'll start with the English post, for the German version please scroll down!

English Version / Englische Version

Today I'll keep the post a little shorter to catch up. After all, next Saturday is already the deadline for the last unit of the contest.

Like I mentioned in the last post, this round I painted five Sporemines and three of the four Ur-Ghuls of the Blackstone Fortress Box. I haven't found number four back then, but don't worry in the meantime the Ur-Ghul reappeared. I painted it in the fifth round. No one should feel excluded, right? :)

I did a quite fast paint job on the Sporemines (well at least compared to my usual paint times), so they may have some minor mistakes. But in my opinion their overall look is great and they surely have no need to hide.

I could not decide easily how to paint the three Ur-Ghuls. I did not like Games Workshops color scheme and neither other ones that I found. After quite some inspirational images I had a rough idea of what I wanted to paint, so I just started painting. Not sure if I like the result or not ;) For the bases I tried to imitate the lines as seen on the original miniatures.

Enjoy the images!

Greetings
~ Tami

Hallo zusammen,

I have been thinking about buying Blackstone Fortress. I may do so yet, just for the Kill Team opportunities.

Thanks for your comment. My boyfriend and I bought the box because it contains some really great miniatures. I like the Spindle Drones most, but the chaos miniatures are quite nice, too. We only managed to play Blackstone Fortress once, but we liked it. So maybe its worth not only for Kill Team and the miniatures, but also for the game itself.

For many years, GW box games were little more than a mini bundle with extra paperwork, but lately the Specialist Games division seems to have done well at creating actual games.

Really nice work on the bases .. i really like theif look ;)

Thanks! Glad you like them :)
