Beware of this SCAM spreading across cryptospace!

in #warning6 years ago (edited)

Through last weeks I can see this SCAM donation almost everywhere (published on twitter for at least tens of different crypto projects and coins). If you are a crypto beginner and you are thinking about it, DON'T DO IT, it's 100% SCAM.

How this scam works? You are asked to donate fragment of ETH to a specific address and you are promised to receive 10 times more back as a part of promotion campaign or some aniversary. Of course you will receive nothing. There is interactive page showing how they send it back but it's fake, there are no real ETH transactions.

I hope this article will help to save someones money! And one more general advice. If someone promises unrealistic risk-free gains (rewards) for your money, it's 99.999% SCAM.

thanks for the heads up. I've looked at alot of sites like these. dont trust anything that gives away free crypto even the faucets are straight sketch.

Yes, there are many scams in cryptospace. On the other hand there are also honest giveaways/airdrops but they don't require payments in advance. Still even them might be dangerous (infected sites, phising, etc.). So be careful and if you are not sure avoid them.
