Banal homicides, robbery, massacres, invasion of residence, assaults on public transport, pedestrian assaults, cyclists, drivers, commercial establishments, companies. This is the routine of "fear" of every Brazilian citizen. A routine that is increasingly evident in the face of the impotence of the Brazilian police and justice in resolving and curbing crimes. Without mentioning here the chaos that is in our Brazilian prison system.

The Brazilian citizen unfortunately has only the luck and the faith to protect himself in our streets. We are subject to a disarmament law that condemns our people to death. It is more than proven that when the government hinders the citizens' access to exercise their natural right to defend and defend their property, a clandestine commerce is created and it is precisely the clandestinely that favors criminals in obtaining weapons.

Therefore, it is common to see in the newspapers every day police operations seizing weapons that are smuggled by gangs that have more than easy access to armaments that even the Army does not own. All this being the result of governmental prohibitive measures.

Proponents of disarmament here in Brazil say that mass weaponry of the population would mean chaos, violence if today is great, would worsen and any problem that an individual had with another person, he would use that right to arm himself, to solve their problems "through the bullet". Here is a great mistake and it is precisely this weak and totally refuted argument that politicians use to make the population more and more submissive to the wills of these bureaucrats.

A thug is not going to break into a house knowing that in this residence he knows that the owners own guns. A thug will not rob a bus knowing that in this public transport of 20 men who are there, 30 are armed, including the driver. A thug will not assault a pedestrian knowing he is armed with a more powerful weapon than his.

Here reasoning is very simple and straightforward. The human being has the right to life. Evil exists, therefore, the right of the human being to defend himself against this evil is a natural human right and that right no one can take away.

We have a natural right to life, liberty, and property. This necessarily means we also have a right to defend these against trespass. Weapons are merely property that can be used to defend your rights. That fact that someone else may use such property to trespass against others in no way justifies anyone removing your right to property and self-defense. This applies to governments or individuals alike, but governments are the most hypocritical when they claim virtue while trespassing against you as a necessary aspect of their operation.
