Weather Synopsis

Near to slightly above average high temps in our area today with temperatures this afternoon ranging from the mid 60s to low 70s with slightly cooler temperatures near Lake Superior, but the lake breeze today wasn't very strong so temperatures were only a couple degrees cooler by the lake compared to inland locations. Plenty of high level clouds streaming through the Northland today with filtered sun through these cirrus clouds.

Through Sunday: Two fronts, one to our north, and another one to our south, the northern front is forecast to wash out by Saturday, while the front to our south wobbles a bit from north to south through Sunday, but this boundary will remain well south of the Northland through the weekend. High pressure will be centered near Hudson Bay Canada, south to the eastern Great Lakes for the next few days.

A few showers can't be ruled out late tonight, Friday and Saturday, but the computer models have been struggling quite a bit as of late with just how much rain we would get for Friday and Saturday. I don't think will have any washouts through Saturday, but still can't completely rule out some passing showers from time to time, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy skies will continue through the weekend.

Note: The trend seen in the Euro model (12z run from Thursday) is for much less rain on Friday, basically going the direction as the NAM and GFS models which have shown little or no rain for Friday in our area for a few days now. So what do we have here? One of those times where the Euro caves to the GFS and NAM models? What is happening???

East wind keeps it cooler by the lake through Sunday, highs in the 50s to lower 60s, while inland locations make it into the 70s to near 80 degrees Friday, with 60s and 70s expected for Saturday and Sunday.
