Don't look back
Don't look back ...

But sometimes you have to look back ... to see how much you have gone forward!
And sometimes you just run past your goal, then you're so locked up in your focus that you run a few steps further than necessary.
In this photo the goal is clearly passed by Rowan, Myla is more focused on Rowan than she is focused on the ball. So Rowan ran past his goal, and Myla is well focused and gets her goal ... She wants to bite Rowan in his neck.
Illustrates the character
And this photo also illustrates the character of both dogs. Rowan is a dog who really likes to do everything for someone else. I want him to get that ball, and he does his very best to get that ball and bring it back to me. As soon as he can ... He enjoys doing things for and with me.
She goes for her own goals
Myla enjoys it just as well, but she is a dog that also goes for her own things. If she thinks she is going to get her way, she will do everything for me, and she will be the most obedient dog of all. But as soon as she realizes that I have other plans like her, her focus is shifted and she goes for her own goals.
Three commands that they must follow immediately
Although she knows very well when she threatens to go too far, and luckily she listens when she has to come back. I hate to drill my dogs, they can decide a lot for themselves, that keeps them alive. But there are three commands that they must follow immediately, and they know that. Those commands are "Come Here", "Stay" and "Wait".
For their own safety
And these are commands for their own safety, and the safety of the environment. Those are also commands that I do not use often ... but when I use them. Then the dogs also know that it is serious, and fortunately ... they listen immediately.
