WednesdayWalk Along the Canal to Khao San Road !!
Continuing my walks along the Bangkok canal i have walked many section of this canal and each time i make it a mission to walk and discover a different part of the canal area. Today i took the taxi boat from Chitlom Pier to Phanfa Pier where the Grand Place is and from there i was going to start my walk along the canal till my feet couldn't take me anymore.
Full speed along the canal which cost you 30 cents American to go about 6 or 7 stops appox 30 minute ride along the canal that's with stopping picking up dropping of passengers.
Along the canal you will see old and new of Bangkok culture and lots of retail stalls , coffee shops , restaurants , hotels and hostels.
When you get to Phanfa Pier you have two choices take another boat which is the same sort of boat but it this boat doesn't pick up passengers it's a tour boat which you paid about $6.50 US dollars ( 200 baht ) and it will take you along another branch of from the main canal for a sight seeing expedition.
But i didn't take the boat i got of that first taxi boat crossed over this huge intersection from the Phanfa Pier and onto the walkway that runs along the canal and this is where my real walk was going to start riding on the boat is boring and you don't get to see the culture up front and chat with a few of the locals.
So this is what i love to see which you would not see from sitting in a boat is seeing the local vendors and maybe stop for a nice Pad Thai feed before moving along.
Enjoy some greenery on the way and there was lots of that believe me some parts of the canal felt like you were walking through a rain forest so very pretty at most spots.
Their are many choices of accommodation along this branch of part of the canal walking towards Khao San Road some very cozy and stylish with lots of greenery surrounding the hotel.
This Hostile "Time Sabai" meaning time to relax i felt was really wonderful not over priced and swimming pool on the premises also.
Moving further down i came across another jungle of greenery and these snake succulent plants hanging from this balcony just amazing.
These apartments were quite nicely done with great views along this part of the canal if you were thinking of staying in Bangkok for a longer term.
The Red Door looking quite elegant but very affordable.
It was such great vibes walking along this part of the canal i had already been walking for 3 hours and i had encounter so much , greeting from men working on a construction at heats of 32 C and were still smiling till a dog with a happy greeting smile also but yet looking a bit confused.
Amongst all the new the old the beauty and the greenery there is always the abandon houses or motor bikes that always seem to blend in with the surrounding no matter what.
Well i had by this stage been walking for about 5 hours and it was getting late i didn't want to be caught up in all that peak hour traffic so i had decided to cross over this bridge to the other side of the canal and head back i had gotten to my destination near the main center of Khao San Road but i will leave that for my next walk to go into Khao San area and do a your around.
As i have crossed the bridge i had to go through this narrow alleyway to the pier and found a couple more succulent plants.
Check this one out the Bum Succulent plant...lol :)
Thank you @tattoodjay for #wednesdaywalk challenge it's certainly giving me more of a boost to get out there and see the beautiful things around us.

Howdy sir hagin! A 5 hour walk? Holy cow! in the heat no less. What a fabulous post though with such a tremendous variety of photos, wow!
That dog was confused because he couldn't believe what he was seeing!
I always make a big day of my walk on Wednesdays because it's my day of work and i like to get out there and see as much as i can the problem when i start walking i seem to have no limit.
Ahhhhh.....the dog just couldn't believe he was seeing the Vin in Thailand...lol :)
lol! yes. the dog was star struck! lol!
Most definitely sir janton :)
That’s a very long and interesting walk!! Are you going to be an official guide in Bangkok fir Steemians?!!
If they paid me enough i will show them some really interesting places....lol...but it will never happen i am happy with my own walks and discoveries :)
I don’t think they could afford your VIP and ultra deluxe tour of Bangkok! You know more about Bangkok’ s hidden walks than many local Thais!
A real adventurer!
I will be happy with a Lab Moo and a couple of Chang Beers...lol :)
Love searching all them back alleys that's were the real Bangkok people are and i love having a smile with them :)
I love your walks around Bangkok always so much of interest to see and its Ike we are there with you with all the photos
What a contras in cost between the two boat rides, but Either one still so much cheaper than the equivalent here an all day water taxi pass here is $37
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Thank you my friend i just love getting into the local areas into all them hidden alleys and haunted abandon houses it's so much fun meeting the real local people and having a laugh with them and transport is so cheap but walking is more fun :)
I can relate back whe I used to travel to places I would of course check out the welll know touristy spots, but i had so much more fun getting off the main thoroughfares and checking out the side and back streets meeting the locals and getting a real feel for the place
Yep you are right i enjoy that more seeing the real culture of the people how they live there daily life more interesting :)
So many when they travel just go where the tours take that and missout on seeing the real feel of the place
This is true that's why i follow my own lead it's more interesting as you know :)
Ohh yes we are the same in that regard :)
And it's a good way to be...lol :)
I really enjoyed your walk.
Thank you @kansuze it is a beautiful area to be walking around i will have part 2 next Wednesday. Thanks for dropping by :)

Thank you Lena i am glad you enjoyed that tour 10 years ago there was hardly anything along these canals now it's become a paradise for tourist a abundance of beautiful little hotels and hostels and greenery everywhere like been on a paradise island :)
Really? So it' s all new! That is amazing!
Well just a lot of old , old Thai houses and many of the owners are now turning them into hotels , hotels and restaurants and becoming a very trendy area and i am loving it :)
