WEDNESDAY WALK With Lily In Andalucia

We live up in the mountain some two kilometers away from the village of Torrox in Andalucia, Southern Spain. The path for our dog walk has always been the same on a daily basis. We walk our dog here along the dirt track passing -by the olive groves in the area. Going down the road, we can see the Mediterranean See. The see could have been so blue but here... the skies were a bit cloudy when this was taken and so the reflections on the water are not that blue at all.

The clouds come and go and sometimes after a heavy rain in the morning, we can be sure that in the afternoon the sun would appear so brightly. In Spain, the countrysides are full of olive trees. Some just grow wild and some farmers plant them for the oil that they could get by harvesting from their trees and bringing the sacks full of olives to the cooperative for pressing.

The landscape here are well kept and the farmers tend to their farms relentlessly getting rid of those wild grasses so that the trees could grow well and produce more olives for the next season.

It takes about 4 kilos of olives to produce a liter of olive oil. Sometimes thre finest oils produced could take up to 15 kilos of olives per liter. Andalucia has many rewards as among the best olive oil producer in the world.

Lily by the way is the chihuahua princess of my mom in-law. Lily came to stay with us when mom-in-law passed away 3 years ago. Lily is already chubby when we got her so we walk her everyday at that long and winding road in our area ... up and down along the dirt track and she couldn´t complain even if she doesn´t like it.
