WednesdayWalk - Through the Ice Age

in #wednesdaywalk5 years ago

Hi, Steemit!!!

We continue our journey through the Ice Age. Now we go down the stairs.

image

Before us, according to the tablet, the Steppe bison (Bison priscus) is a giant herbivorous bison, which fed on grass and small bushes, lived in the steppes of Europe, Asia and North America and weighed up to 1,100 kg

image

image

Bison was glad to talk a bit with us. He said that he liked Israel, but here (in his personal opinion) is a bit hot and a little bit of grass. At the end he asked me to say hello to you! :)))

Next to him, we saw the owner of luxurious horns!

image

image

Giant big-horned deer (Megaloceros giganteus). A sign next to it told us that this species of deer once lived in Europe and Asia, ate vegetation and weighed up to 600 kg.

image

image

His horns are so large and branched that they look like wings :) Swipe them up to 4 meters!

image

A few words for our readers! :)))

Deer liked to talk, as in the photo he continued to speak :))))

image

We would have talked with him, but other "glacial" animals were waiting for us. One of them is little mammoth calf named Dima. Walking down the corridor, we almost slipped another creature.

image

See him under the stairs?

image

Glyptodon (Doedicurus clavicaudatus)! Well, the name! :))) Some parody of the modern turtle :)))) Dedikurus (Doedicurus, from the Greek-Greek δοιδῠῠο-+ οὐρά, literally - the tail-pistil) is a genus of extinct mammals from the subfamily glyptodonti. This not very nice animal lived in North and South America, was herbivorous and weighed up to 2 tons.

Pay attention to his tail!

image

At the end of a powerful tail of dedikurus there was a spiked mace weighing up to 74 kg. This served the armadillos for protection and for battles between males during the mating period (while the bones of the rivals most often remained intact). Honestly, I ran away from him with pleasure....

Next time we will meet with the mammoth Dima! :)

Have a nice day !!!
