Out in Westport -- Friday
There's nothing like clocking out on payday Friday and exiting the stinky cannery into sunny Westport. I had enough time before the bus arrived to grab a Mountain Dew from the Hungry Whale convenience store, and then stroll* along the marina to the viewing tower for a few pics. The snow-capped Olympic Mountains were brilliantly lit; you can just see a hint of them here. Someday I'll have a camera that can capture them justly!
*Strolling in knee-high rubber boots is an art form I'm honing.
I watched a line of crab boats returning to port. They were empty, so they were likely coming home after dropping their crab pots.
Waves crashing on the jetties. They're adding rocks (boulders really) to the seawall; that's the shadow of a front-end loader parked next to the viewing tower.
This is where the boats dock. My shadow self was also taking a photo!

Westport, Wash., is located at the entrance to Grays Harbor on the Pacific Coast. I ride the bus from Hoquiam to work there at the cannery, Washington Crab, and sometimes have up to an hour to kill in the afternoon while I wait for the bus home. Out in Westport is a series of photos and videos taken with my ZTE Z899VL camera phone during that downtime.
