Maccas really stepping it up with their Cafe offerings

You might have heard the saying, if you don't change you will be left behind. But the fear is not just being left behind but to actually die and be forgotten! Imagine that..

For many years, McDonalds has been the premier fast food symbol and also the magical M has been a delight for children all over the world. Some interesting things I found out about McDonalds is they discouraged the use of Children in their advertising material even though they know that they are the targets. The shift is for them to focus on the families and subtly hint at children in the background playing in the now standard playground that comes in the newly refurbished Maccas.

The types of food has also changed plenty from very factory like and low ended to the now Gourmet selection and of course the Cafe section.

This is especially hard to project as Australia has plenty of cafes and most of them do serve a great coffee and cake! It will be hard to beat at the mass scale that McDonalds operates. How do you keep the consistency and quality from slipping?

To be honest, we also do not eat at every single Maccas we encounter. I reckon it is more of a convenience food than fast food now. Sometimes the atmosphere is quiet enough to have a meeting and sometimes you just have nowhere else to turn to when it is late at night.

Here are more pictures of the coffee and cake and don't discount the quality of Maccas cafe selection as these were pretty good!
