There is wisdom in displaying maturity. There are some people in your life’s journey that the moment you meet them, you start off with fights and this is what happened between Linda and Comfort. Comfort showed the needed wisdom and won a friend over and the friend, in turn, became a blessing to her just a year down the line. You could imagine what would happen in the years to come. Indeed, you don’t throw a baby away with the bath water.
We have focused on Comfort for a while now and we need to acknowledge the significance of the lady with the attitude; Linda. She could have just left that group and lick her wounds secretly but she reached out to Comfort and apologized. It takes a great deal of humility to apologize and Linda displayed that habit.
Comfort left the room open for reconciliation just as Linda too. She became a blessing to Comfort as Comfort also became a blessing to her. Comfort decided to leave what transpired between them out of the equation when they came for the premarital counselling. There might be someone you need to reconcile with after reading this, so just go ahead and do it.
Silence is indeed golden when you cannot think of an answer. The things that are getting your attention are the things that are not important. If you chose to close your eyes to them and not respond, you cannot die. Some people feel the need to always talk and they end up saying all sorts of nonsense. You don’t always have to talk and you don’t always have to reply. Stop responding to everything. Stop allowing everything to get your attention. Learn to overlook some things, sometimes. Emotional intelligence is very important.
Don’t try to make other people be like you. We are all different in our unique and peculiar ways. It takes a huge level of maturity to tolerate another person in your space even with the individual differences.
