Witness Update Report #16

It's been a really rough start of the week for a lot of the witnesses and the Steemit platform. Many of you may have noticed on Tuesday that the Steem blockchain was unresponsive and users were not able to log into any of the front end interfaces. What happened was the Steem blockchain stalled at block 23847548 due to an invalid transaction that was allowed into a previous block. Luckily the witnesses along with the Steemit development team sorted out the problem by patching it in record time. The reason this happened was because of a protection mechanism built into the blockchain preventing the invalid transaction from doing any real harm. Just to reassure all Steemians, that there was no risk to user accounts or tokens at any time. You can read more about it here.

The ADSactly-Witness server was successfully updated to release version 0.19.5 and our server have very little down time. All is running smoothly as it should be.

Please take a moment to read our Witness Proposal, and if you support the same fundamentals and vision as we do for the future of the Steemit community, please consider voting for us as witness here.

ADSactly Steemit Help - Tags

You’ve just finished an amazing post on steemit and you’re ready to share it with the steemit world. It turned out just the way you wanted and you can’t wait to get the feedback and votes you think it truly deserves. How can you make sure that you can maximize the eyeballs finding your post? To put it quite simply, tags

Before you hit that post button you need to choose the tags that your post will be listed under. Choose your tags very carefully, they can be the difference between having having lots of views or no traffic at all on your posts. You can choose up to 5 different tags

There are a few things to consider when choosing the tags for your post. First of all, you should choose tags that are relevant to your content. This will ensure that you get people who are interested in your genre of content finding it. People are able to search through tags for specific content. Secondly, make sure to choose tags that are considered high traffic or popular tags. These are the tags that are frequented by readers and will maximize the potential viewers. Be careful to make sure the tag is relevant to your content though be because users could get frustrated by opening your post and finding out it has nothing to do with the tag you used. Steemit has made it easy to see the most used tags as they are listed in their search drop down.

Your first tag is very important . This is he main tag that will be associated with the post and cannot be changed. The other four tags are ones that can help reach a broader audience but might be slightly less specific to the topic. These other 4 tags can be changed after posting by using the post editor.

There are a couple things you might also want to consider when selecting your tags. A big consideration is the many amazing communities that have created their own tags for content they want to support. Using these tags is a great way to not only find more viewers but to also get the support and possibly vote of a larger community account. You might also want to create your own tag and include it as one of your 5 tags. Some people do this so that it is easier for people to find content related to the stuff they post. The hard part about this however is people don’t often go looking for these more specific tags.

Experiment with different tags and see what works for you. Don’t be afraid to try new tags or drop tags that don’t seem to be drawing attention to your content. It’s a big world out there in Steemit and any advantage you can find is a step in the right direction. Good luck and happy tagging!!

ADSactly

Today marks our second Friday Night Live with Adsactly! Our very own @princessmewmew and @broncofan99 are hosting a discussion panel where they will chat about all things Steemit related, focusing especially on minnow issues, curation and community centred projects. We invite you to come on over and introduce yourself and share a post with us, and chat about it, and also to ask any questions you may have! Join them here in four hours time, at 21h00 UTC.

We welcome you to join the society, meet and talk to people, make friends and establish relations with other ADSactly members. You will receive ADSactly community units just for showing up and taking part in our voice hangouts, for helping out with promotions, for helping new members feel welcomed, showing them around and helping them get familiar with the society, for finding new projects that might catch interest of other members. Sometimes even for being generally a good person willing to help others.
