There Is A New Witness In Town : OCD-Witness

Hey steemians..

Preface

I usually don't make a post to advertise a steem witness cause i believe that voting on witnesses is everyone's personal choice. However I will make an exception in this case..

This is not an advertisement per se, but rather an analysis on a fellow steemian who has recently decided to run for witness...

This analysis will help you to understand the man behind this new witness node a bit better so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not to vote for him as Witness.

If you are totally oblivious to the term "Witness" and "How do they affect you", you can read all about it in my post. The said post was well received and it is my highest paid post on steemit with multiple upvotes received from reputed witnesses.

Introduction of a New Witness

The new witness that i am talking about is @ocd-witness and the man behind is none other than a famous whale @acidyo.

Generally witnesses create a seperate account to keep / track their activities as steemit user and as steem blockchain witness seperately. So @ocd-witness is basically handled by @acidyo.

Who is @acidyo

To summerize it in one line, i will say that he is a good whale.. Hailing from Finland, he has been an active user of steemit for the past 1.5 years and truly has made a name for himself by interacting with community, rewarding deserving people and constantly involving himself for the betterment of platform.

Some Outstanding Work From @acidyo

1. OCD Initiative : I am a huge admirer of his @ocd initiative. @acidyo along with @anomadsoul are personal curators of @ocd project. @ocd initiative's prime job is to curate and resteem deserving posts from newbies who have very less following. All you need to do is add a tag of "ocd" or "ocd-resteem" in your post and curators team at @ocd will review your post. If it is worthy enough, @ocd will curate your post and will resteem it to their followers. Not just that, it has multiple language support too. So if you are posting in, lets say, Chinese language, @ocd has got you covered.

Here is a screenshot of @ocd's profile:-

The one thing I hate about people is that when they become successful, they detach themselves from the community who made them successful. Suffice to say that @acidyo is not one of those people. Even after becoming a gigantic whale, he cared enough for the community to create @ocd initiative to help new comers with good talent to get up on their feet.

2. Ask-steemit initiative : There is another wonderful system that @acidyo has created. Sometimes, he creates discussion based posts and asks steemit community to participate in that discussion by providing their valuable insight on the matter. Not just that, he duly rewards people who prticipate in those discussions and make some contribution..

Trust me when i say this that not many whales have time or the energy to do that.. but he does it.. how? I dont know . May be his love for the community is too strong, i guess.

3. Understanding of Steem Blockchain : Like i said in my witness post before, just being "nice" doesn't make you a strong contender to run for witness category. Since witnesses are caretaker of steem blockchain so they must have an absolute understanding of Steem economy and Steem Blockchain itself.

On many occasions, @acidyo has stood up to fight reward pool abuse and has actively participated in pointing out flaws in blockchain along with providing solutions of those flaws. Now thats the kind of thing that actually makes one a strong contender to become a witness.

There is a lot more that he has done for the community and a single post won't be enough to cover it.

Conclusion

Keeping in view the above mentioned facts, i hereby totally support @ocd-witness account to run as a witness.

I will not impose my opinion on you but i have provided you with enough facts to make an educated decision. If you would like to read more on subject, here is the link to @ocd-witness announcement.

Thanks for this post @jbn. I've been wondering how @ocd works and also about what witnesses are. Will go and read your earlier post to find out and will also start following @acidyo. Who are the other "good" whales that you would recommend checking out.

I looked at a list yesterday but it was all gobbledygook to me. Some whales haven't even made a post. No idea how that works! 😊

Some whales are here just for business.. they delegate SP to bots and in turn earn free SBDs.. they dont even need to make a post :p

Yes do check out my witness post. Its contains all the knowledge that you need on who witnesses are and why you should care about them..

You said "who are other good whales that you would recommend checking out"

Well first of all, being a whale is not obligatory to run for witness. Even you and I can establish pur witness nodes and become witnesses. However since witnesses are voted on by steemians so generally 90% of the witnesses are whales since they have good amount of following (and hence more witness votes)..

To answer your question, there are many.. @lukestokes is a brilliant man. He is also a witness.
Same goes for @blocktrades.
@anyx
@ausbitbank
@phareism

And many more. I have mentioned a good amount of worthy witnesses at the end of my witness post. Do check it out..

Peace..

Thanks for the explanation @jbn.

I read your witness post and left a comment there. It was extremely helpful.

I wasn't looking for good witnesses so much as good whales, whether they are or aren't witnesses. 😊

Well the witnesses i have mentioned are good whales too.. there is another one.. @transisto
Check him out too.. :)

And thank you mate for taking time to read my post and giving your thoughtful comments on them.. much regards

You're welcome. Your witnesses article was a good education.

@jbn thanks for introducing us with @acidyo Yes he is doing a great job by creating Ask-steemit initiative and stood against reward pool abuse.

My pleasure.. :)

Nice well rounded article @jbn always support witnesses that are doing work quietly in the background.

Exactly my friend.. i am glad that you and i share the same feelings towards witnesses and whales who are silently working for this community..

The @ocd initiative is one that is helping promising writers hit visibility and I recognise & appreciate what @acidyo and @anomadsoul have been doing for the steem blockchain. He got my vote.

Exactly. And his efforts should be appreciated. Being a whale, he can just easily sit, make 2 3 posts a day and earn a lot of money. But instead he chose to dedicate most of his precious time to steemit community.

thank you so much for this post, sir. I resteemed it for all my followers to read :-) God bless po :-)

Thank you po... :)
