The life of the average STEEM user is often quite busy, with work, play, life and social things often sucking up the time we'd much rather spend making new posts or reading interesting news on the network. It's nearly impossible to keep ontop of everything.. Take it from a guy who does STEEM full time as a developer!

However it's about to get a wee bit easier for you in regards to checking if your witness votes are being used to support witness campaigns that no longer have an operating witness server, or that frankly don't give enough of a fancy fuck to update their price feeds in a timely matter (or at all in some cases).

The Importance of Witness Votes

A witness vote here on our STEEM network is nothing less than a show of financial support, which ultimately determines what type of apps, services and functionality get coded and launched for the STEEM community. Witnesses are paid to create blocks for the network which is done by a dedicated (most the time) server computer somewhere on the internet in accordance to their witness ranking.

With the top 20 witnesses making a few hundred STEEM a day and the witnesses with less ranking making significantly less. Most top 20 witnesses are either software engineers / coders or teams that perform a function or service to our STEEM network. Although many witnesses are out there asking for your witness votes it is suggested you look into their activity on the network to see if they are active.

Basically, witness votes decide where the STEEM rewarded for block creation falls. With that being said it is important for our entire communities well being to keep on top of who we are voting for witness and not waste votes supporting folks who no longer have a witness server running or are unmotivated to do basic witness duty.

Current Dead or Inactive Witnesses

Would like to mention this isn't supposed to come off as picking on anyone or invoking a "witch-hunt" against any witness here on STEEM. The list below is simply observation of who is currently on the witness list but not running a witness as well as a list of those who aren't bothering to update their STEEM price feed regularly

A link to unvote their witness has been supplied after their witness rank in order to help expedite the unvoting of dead witnesses. Please use your own discretion and do your own research before voting or unvoting witnesses, your vote has value after all!
