Hail to all who are on STEEM! Hope your day is dapper AF.

Holy hell it feels like foreever ago since the last time I'd sat down to create a witness update for the Steemit / SSTEEM community. Winter blues manifesting as seasonal depression kept me barely limping along over the past few months, but with the snow finally fucking off and warm weather beginning to become the norm up here in the bowels of Canada with it comes an invigorating energy and a break from what seemed like an endless depressive winter!

This week as STEEM Witness

In my winter slump I didn't manage to get even close to half of what I would have liked to accomplished it seems.. While I've convinced myself I'm some sort of wonderfully intelligent bloke that's a great asset to those around him the fact of the matter is that winter depression KICKED MY ASS in the months prior. My apologies for not being as productive as i should have been.. With apologies aside now I'm back into work-mode with spring now upon us here in Canada, check out the projects that are being coaxed towards bearing the fruits of success here this year. Lots of early alpha and beta versions of things on the way!

Steem-Roller

Many moons ago I set out to build a STEEM casino that would allow an alternative means of investing for our network users in the form of a user bankrolled 1% house edge game of chance. Very pleased to announce that a working alpha version is now operational! Betting, deposits, investing and a plethora of other functionality are indeed implemented and working on the Steem-roller project at this point but will still need a month or two work and some serious open beta testing before I'll be comfortable enough to launch the application.. When you're dealing with currency, especially the funds of others, it's imperative to code your systems correctly and have many, many sanity checks along the way to help stave of hackers and exploiters!

While initially I had planned to make Steem-Roller.com open sourced I think it's best to keep it private in the future. The older version I'd written is still available to be used by others.. but this newer gambling engine with investment support will be kept under lock and key in the future likely. While this goes against my normal agenda here on STEEM in the pursuit of good opsec the decision has been made.

Really looking forward to getting this project launched.. STEEM desperately needs an expansion of investment vehicles to help investors grow their wealth.. That is exactly what the Steem-roller projects aims to provide.

Other STEEM Stuff on the Horizon...

Some of my other projects like STEEM.GLOBAL and the Tippy tipping service are still under development as well! While they are more than a little late to make it past the development chopping block the plan is to finish them or get them running again here in the near future. Will also be running a "pay for vote" service off of this account for users to boost their post payouts by sending SBD.. Still have yet to find the perfect balance between value and cost on this side however.

Will be making more effort to get back into my weekly posting schedule of these witness updates.. Some form of schedule is healthy for me it seems and without it I slip into terrible depression!

Anyone wishing to help fund the STEEM.GLOBAL faucet or future development let me know, while it was affordable to run the faucet when I was top 20 witness currently between server costs, cost of living and faucet payout I can't run it as i once did.. Working on this though, it's my hope to get back into the groove and earn a top 20 position again!
