Word Poetry Challenge #16: Patience

It's been way too long since I posted any poetry here. Art has been keeping me busy. So here is a poem.

Home (Wherever That May Be)

Patience, she said.
Patience is all you need.
I saw her look
at the time on her wristwatch
and smiled at the irony of it all.
Our father was long gone,
mother was dead
and here we sat quietly,
waiting patiently
to die on the train
that should've taken us home.
