Term: Penciller - penciler
Definition: A comic book or graphic
novel line artist who works in pencil to performs the first step in relaying stories such as horror comics which are most effectively conveyed in visual, image form rather than words. These artists are concerned with layout positions and vantages of scenes, and often work with varying degrees of hardnes in pencils, or with mechanical pencils or drafting leads. Usually the images are drawn on oversized sheets of paper, 11 by 17 inches. For the finished product, pencillers work with inkers, and for some inkers and pencillers the teamwork is so satisfying they work exclusively with each other.
