Integrate Your Steemit Blog Into Wordpress

The Steem ecosystem is moving forward at an incredible rate. In certain situations Wordpress makes a good match for Steem. Wordpress sites can gain revenue from post/curation rewards, while the steem blockchain gains more users and investors. Steems's ability to adapt rapidly into multiple different platforms makes for a versatile and battle tested platform to build off. Especially today with so many attack vectors and unknowns in the crypto space.

One option to integrate Steem into your website is a Wordpress plugin called Steemit Feed. The Steemit Feed plugin allows you to simply insert a short-code in any post or page. Once inserted, the code displays a Steemit blog feed pulled directly from a user's blog located within the Steem blockchain.

Begin by installing Wordpress either via shared or unmanaged hosting, if unmanaged, you can use a previous post as a guide.

Search for the panel "customize", located under appearance. Then set your home to a static page.

Install the Steemit Feed plugin then activate it. You can find it by searching for "steemit" in the search box located within the "add new plugins page". If you want a few different feeds / categories shown, add a few different pages and create a Steemit Feed for each page. You can find the short-code by clicking "Steemit Feed" and viewing the list of created feeds.

Now you can configure the Steemit Feed plugin. You must first select user to pull the data from. This is what the configuration panel should look like. Select Steemit Feed as shown below, then Add New Feed.

For an example here, here is a typical short-code placement.

Start customizing your feed to what you want. For example say you have a page called "Homesteading" and you select the tag "homesteading" for your feed. The page will only load all your posts that include the homesteading tag. This is configurable under "include tags".

This is how I configured posts. Customize the feed to however you would like it.

You should now be able to load your website and view your Steemit blog where you placed the short-code. Success.

Steem is the only cryptocurrency I have found so far with an easy to use Wordpress blog integration plugin. A massive amount of websites already use the content management system Wordpress. This makes Steem a great option for both e-commerce and blogging. Having with no fees and an already existing blogging ecosystem tends to sweeten the deal even more.
