Motivating the team mates

in #work5 years ago

In any work environment motivation is very important. We will not be able to gain good productivity if we are not motivating the subordinates. A good leader should be able to share their knowledge and experiences with the team members. That is how they can keep the team members motivated. In most of the companies and work environments the team members choose their path of growth by looking at their manager or the leader. If the manager is lazy and not really motivation, the team itself will be the same. At the same time if the manager is really enthusiastic and encouraging, the team members will have a great positive energy to work for the manager and complete the tasks as planned.

Some of the work cultures today see the subordinates as just working machines and not as human beings. The managers just talk to the subordinates only about the work. Of course in a working environment we will not be able to discuss about personal aspects, but it is definitely not bad if we discuss about the common motivating factors with the team members. A good manager can showcase some of their past experiences with the team to keep them highly motivated. Nobody becomes an expert in one single day or by just learning some skills. It all comes with a practice. If the confidence level of the leader is very high, the leader should definitely be motivating the team members in the same direction.

Help when they are stuck

This is the nature of a good leader to jump in when there is a need in the team. But at the same time the leader should not be helping the team for every single thing. A full ground should be provided to the team members to experiment things. Only by experimenting things, a person can learn easily. Mistakes are the first step towards learning. If leader or manager always helps the team before even they can make mistakes, it will not be a good sign for them to self learn.

It can sometimes be a hectic thing to manage time for both learning as well as work completion. But when it comes to learning, a full freedom should be given to the team members to explore whatever they want. At the same time, the time lines should also be maintained properly so that the leader will not have any necessity to breathe under the neck of the team members. Only with such ethical practices, one can create a motivating work environment.
