Russia 2018 to become the arena of Egypt competed for the third time in the World Cup stage. Previously they participated in the World Cup in 1934 and 1990. They became the second African team to get tickets to Russia.

Actually, Egypt has experienced bad times in recent years. Even they had not qualified for the African Cup of Nations from 2012 until 2015. Though the event had their dominance before.

Egypt is one of the strongest and most successful teams in Africa. In fact they are king in the African Cup of Nations. They first became champions in 1957, precisely in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Until now The Pharaohs successfully become champion seven times. No other teams in Africa can match the Egyptian championship collection.

They had time to experience bad times in the tournament. From 2012 to 2015 they can not even get away with it. But in 2017 yesterday they were able to advance to the final and eventually finish as runners-up.

They are also the most successful team in Pan Arabic Games. So far they have become champions four times and so runner-up once.
