T29 Heavy Tank - WOrld of Tanks Blitz

in #worldoftanks6 years ago (edited)

Since the storm has devastated the land of the Philippines, it's time to use a more protected vehicle, this time I'll use a T29 Heavy Tank..

If you get the T29 through the M6 Heavy, you will have the 90mm unlocked so you will not be worthless. If you play the T29 bone stock with the 76mm gun you will be an unpopular teammate.

Literally all I do is play the "heavy" side of the map, and then just rapidly move back and forth to get enemies to fire either into my turret or ground (Hopefully). You have 1250 HP and an amazing turret, use it.

Your gun is trash at long range and you cannot trade with any 122mm guns. Basically just facehug any tank you can.

T29 has strengths and weaknesses, as do all tanks. Here's some the strengths:

  1. The turret is one of the best in the game, If you can just peak your gun over a rock or cliff just a little, you're set.
  2. T29 has great hit points, the gun can put over 340 damage sometimes, and crew skills can make the reload an easy 8 or 9 seconds the gun's aiming is awesome too.
  3. T29 can be a great support tank in high teir battles. Even though its not much, the T29 can usually help against teir 9 meds and teir 8 heavies. Teir 9 heavies, well they go for you first....... But taking damage off them helps a little for the other teir 9s.

Weakness:

  1. Too many people drive the T29 sideways........ You have to either charge your enemy hull first then move around him, or find cover and just use your turret.
  2. Health, T29's health isn't the best, so you'll have to know what tank you're up against. So when it comes to an full health IS-3 vs you. Find cover
  3. Tracks, American heavies have track problems, they stick out and people can hit them with ease. That's another reason not to drive sideways..

You have a Tier 9 turret and a Tier 8 gun. Just hide your Tier 7 hull, and hull-down.
You can pen most Tier 9's frontally too, with some effort/weakspots.

Essentially: look for a hill or pile of rubble. Drive up behind it, peek your turret over. BOOM. retreat/reload...repeat.

FYI..
The Heavy Tank T29 and Heavy Tank T34 were American developmental heavy tanks started in March 1944 to counter the appearance of the Tiger II at Normandy. The T26E3 Medium Tank (that entered service as the M26 Pershing), weighing around 45 short tons, was not considered heavily enough armed or armored to counter the Tiger II, which weighed closer to 69 t (76 short tons). The T29 was not ready in time for the war in Europe, but it did provide post-war engineers with opportunities for applying the engineering concepts learned in artillery and automotive components.
