Cebu Writers' Guild: Second Session Announcement

Heads up Steemians!

I still haven't written about how the First Session went last Saturday, but I think I need to post the official announcement for the Second Session. It means that what lies ahead for Cebu Writers' Guild is exciting and I know it would be great! I'm now hyped up to announce the Second Session because those who attended the First Session were also excited to have another avenue to foster learning, camaraderie, and idea generation. I will still post about the First Session in the coming days.

This post will serve as an official invitation to all Cebuano steemians who wanted to join the event. The same format and system as the first session; this is open for all steemians irregardless of passion and talent. Also, newbies are very much welcome. In fact, to cater the needs of the newbies, @morken has made a brilliant initiative to include Steem and Steemit Basics every session. Further details about this will be added below.

For those who haven't heard about Cebu Writers' Guild, you can check out the introduction and the first session announcement. Initiatives like this are in accordance with the future plans for the Cebu community and Steem Summit's vision to be Steemit in real life.

Please take note of the details below.

This topic was agreed during the first session. As also agreed, I will be the facilitator in the upcoming session. With this, I was tasked to create a module that could be used during the session.

The session will always be an open discussion. Anyone who thinks they are knowledgeable in a certain topic are welcome to share. No one should be barred from sharing their knowledge, idea, and opinion.

To cater the needs of the newbies, about 1/3 of the allocated time for discussion is for Steem and Steemit Basics. This was suggested by @morken, so he will be the one to facilitate this session. He can also include an inspiration speech in which he's very good at, as manifested last Steem Summit.

After the session, everyone is encouraged to write about something. Since this is also a social experiment, I will be tracking your write ups. You can actually write four topics this time:

1. About the Meet Up and How It Went
2. Your Reaction About the Session
3. Your Application of the Topic Discussed
4. Your Insight About @morken's Talk

The chosen date of the second session will be on May 20, 2018 (Sunday) at 1:00 - 6:00 PM. Considering last session's flow, it was decided to add an extra hour for Steem and Steemit Basics discussion. As for the suggested flow, 1 hour will be allocated for preparations and catching up (chikka²), 1 hour for Steem and Steemit Basics discussion, 1 hour for Writing Styles discussion, and 2 hours for workshop and application of learnings.

As a facilitator, I will be at Ayala on or before 12:00 PM. Since the venue will be near Ayala, it was agreed to meet at Ayala before 1:00 PM. I will be at 4th floor food court, near the activity center. If you will be there, please don't hesitate to approach me. As I've said in the introduction, even if no one will come, I will still be there.

This is what makes Cebu Writers' Guild exciting! During the first session, it was agreed to have the second session at someone's house and Ma'am @liamnov offered to have it in her place. She deserves to be recognized for her generosity. She is also hungry to learn, so she's never absent in any community related activity. She's always present in every Open Discussion in Teenvestors Discord Channel.

Since her house is in Lahug which is just near Ayala, it was agreed to meet there before going to her place.

Since this is an open discussion, clashes of different opinions might arise. Here are the following guidelines to abide:

1. Respect the one who's talking.
2. Respect everyone's opinion.
3. Respect ma'am @liamnov's place. Avoid littering. We are just visitors after all. We should prepare for the session ourselves and clean up after. Everyone is also encouraged to bring whatever food they can bring to share.
