In the Eye of the Beholder
After a long weekend or vacation or holiday, I usually hear Back To Reality 😔.
We feel like we don’t want to end the vacation because we’re back to obligation and responsibilities, that if there’s any other way not to do those, in other words Back to Work or Back to School.
When we say Back to Reality We didn’t mean that the vacation we had with our loved ones is just an illusion, we just used to idea of categorizing our life to the pleasant and not really pleasant phase of reality, Like,
The laundry pileand the dirty dishes that’s waiting for you.
The person at work or at school that you hate to see,
The pending project or office works that no one can do but you.
Personal issues, vices and problems that you know that is not good for you and you need to stop.
Those are just few not so pleasant reality of our life that you cannot change,
But are those really are that burden to you or you just used to look at those as a burden for you.
Which is true?, The reality that you think you cannot change? Or your wrong judgement on the reality?
I remember the life story of Helen Keller, a famous Writer, She was just 19 months old when she got blinded and deaf because of a sickness, a situation that she didn’t choose to happen and she couldn’t do anything at all.
But because of her teacher and friend Ann Sullivan, She learned how to talk and how to listen, and eventually became a famous Writer, Lecturer and even an Activist, though she blind and deaf.
Helen is just a good living proof that we have the ability to change our attitude towards the reality of life. One of her famous line is ”Although tue world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”
So next time after a vacation or holiday, before saying Back to Reality don’t forget that you can change your way on how to look at things.
