Three AM - A free write musing
If I were to gauge my level of success based of how I believe others perceive my actions and abilities then I might as well label myself a failure. At least that is how I feel about the subject. My own take on success is that I’m still here, take that as you will.
To speak of the subject during daylight hours would be to view my own level of success through a filtered yet semi clear lens of level headedness, but ask me again at three AM my answer will not resemble that of a successful minded human.
Unfortunately three AM is not so much a measure in time as much as it is but a frame of mind and not usually a good one. It’s where I live, at times, caught between bouts of clarity and conciseness, desire and doubt, fear and fortitude.
These thoughts and idea may make for great dark fiction but often their better left to the darkness and fogginess of the morning light.

Wow I like this and agree totally with your thoughts. I am the same way in my thinking. I may do a post about getting up and saying what you will.

sure thing... Maybe I will wean down on the cream in the coffee. I see you are a vegan. I am a vegetarian and could never drink milk straight up. This cream thing has got me. lol

About two years or so. I was a vegetarian for a year prior to that. How about you?

I have been a vegetarian going on probably 34 years. We did vegan for a while years ago. It seemed we had too much energy.
I love animals and really changed my lifestyle as far as food once I met my husband, which of course changed my thinking over time.

I got my wife to reduce her meat eating, not all the way but enough to be healthier and save a few animals lives in the process.

Take over preparing the food and get some veggie vegan burgers, slowly move her over. :) Yes, you are doing it the right way. People make their own choices.
Yup, bit by bit I will convert her 😀 I think getting her the read about Buddism and stoicism might take more work. To each their own - I don't want to push to much

Your essay highlights the struggle of creatives and self worth. It’s so difficult to break through to commercial success – a lot of very talented people never achieve that kind of success in their Art. And, while were taught not to view unremunerative praise as success, we are taught to view critically negative commentary against us and our work as reflective of our own perceptions of persona success.
