The Swantewic Monument at the Sea Bridge in Wustrow!
Hi Steemians, in this article I want to show you the monument of the slavic god "Swantewic" at the Sea Bridge in Wustrow at the Baltic Sea and I will give you more information about this shrine.
Swantewic was the main god of the slavic people at the Baltic Sea region. The Swantewic monument in Wustrow was built in the year 2000 by the sculptor Christine Dewerny out of sandstone.
The Swantewic shrine with four heads and in life-size was placed in Arkona until the first half of the 12th Century. Later this shrine also gave the name "Swante w ostrowe" to the place Wustrow, which means something like holy island in English.
