T-H-U-G L-I-F-E

Whenever we come across thug, we picture a sagging man selling weeds and probably a menace to the society. The society have fought brutally against thugs and their social vices but that is not where I am going with this article. You may be surprised how this article will eventually turn out but the most important thing is: you learn something.

Where I am seated right now, T-H-U-G-L-I-F-E means The Hate U Give Little Infants F**ks Everyone. Infants are our children, male or female. We bring them to this world as their parents and guardian but the question is: are they safe in this present society? Take a look around you and feel your heart skip for a moment, the world have become so unsafe to this children. We live in the world where love is like unicorn – it only exists in the books.

There are many times I am afraid of switching on the television or reading a newspaper because of so many bad news happening around. If the society doesn’t favor the children now, how can they favor the society when they grow? We should realize by now that these children have a developed brain, what they see and hear become a part of their upbringing. The hate you therefore give will be a part of them, they will grow with it and act accordingly.

I have realized how difficult it is to grow in regions where the color of your skin is seen as a problem. Racism is an abuse due to the color of a person’s skin, it can be seen everywhere around us. Police brutality has become a menace in our society, the worst part of it is the hate towards the black community. We have heard many times how the lives of black young men have been taken just because they feel they are dangerous. How do we explain this hatred to our children? How do we explain these situations to the children of the deceased?

The hate u give is still raging on in our youths’ mind. They don’t care about the society, they just want to make quick money and enjoy life regardless of the consequences. If we trace their stories, we will discover so many crooked ways from the upbringing. Go to the prison and ask the youths how they got there, the society will take most of the blame. A society that feeds the mind of the children with violence and political nonsense. A society that brews corruption, police brutality, rape and many more yet the government cover them up.

The laws of a country were made to protect the citizens especially the young ones but things have changed totally. I read of a rich man that raped a 7-year old girl and got away free. This girl will suffer mental and psychology problems unless she gets adequate help. She will grow up with hatred for the society that left the truth to stand with injustice. This goes for so many injustice cases against children. If they don’t get help, they eventually become a menace to everyone.

I watched a movie recently titled: The Hate You Give Me. The movie speaks a lot about this topic, a young black man was shot near his car for reaching to use his hair brush. His female friend was a witness to this police brutality. Despite her report to the higher authorities, the policeman went free with just a warning. This action messed with the brains of the young ones and they went to the street to riot and show their anger. Everyone including the people in government felt the show of anger.

Finally, I want a society where our children can grow in peace, unity and love without fear of growing up. It is high time we stopped giving hate to these little infants, we need to extend true love around us so they can see it is real and not fictional. The government should sit tight and create a conducive environment for them so they can grow to favor the society that we live in. This is truly a matter of what you sow, you reap or the law of Karma.
