In the neighborhood the morita lived Juan and Jose two children of 12 and 10 years respectively, they were good friends and knew each other since always, they left school and went together to bathe in the river that passed near their house when the afternoon fell both walked to their homes where one of them was hit by reality.

Juan, the eldest lived with his parents in a dysfunctional home, his mother was a good woman, but she didn't have a hint of character, when Ernesto "the man of the house" arrived she was submissive and took care of him in everything, and it is that everything had a reason, he beat her and if he made her angry he would lash out at Juan, about who she claimed was not her son because she was a woman of the bad life, and she didn't say it exactly that way, she tried to make sure that everything was in her place so that he would be happy and not mistreat her or even worse Juan, but Ernesto always looked for the slightest excuse to get his animal side out.

On the other hand there was Jose who lived in a loving home and where there was always everything, his father was a very hardworking man who watched over his wife and his only son, and she was an attentive and loving woman who gave all the love she could to his family and to his little son who she often did not correct just for pampering him and not to get upset or have a tantrum, not knowing what she was only doing him harm.

Both of them grew up being best friends, one on one side being mistreated and seeing how his mother was the victim of his father's beatings and the other with all the love and attention possible, doing and undoing as he wanted, Juan never talked about his problems because he didn't want to show him pity, he just waited for the time to be older and to be able to protect and help his mother from that terrible man.

When they reached the age of 18 and 16, the problems began, they met people who were in shady businesses and were always looking for people who were willing to work for them. Juan was a focused young man who, although he had been marked by abuse and had a bitter and explosive character, was very clear about what he wanted, a future to offer his mother, José had had it all and had just grown up craving more and more, he liked money and at that age he tried drugs for the first time, he began to spend more and more time with those who dominated the neighborhood and even gave him a gun to facilitate his new job, his parents, seeing his drastic change, wanted to advise him, but as they had never given him character, he simply didn't pay the least attention and continued to make money in the worst way, he felt he was at the top, had the women he wanted, the clothes of the best brands, and even bought himself a late model car, Juan saw him and only felt disappointed in what his friend had transformed, always trying to convince him to leave that life but he saw him with pride and even contempt, that had hurt him a lot and had left him alone with his problems and worries.

One day he came home after working as an assistant in a market picking up sacks of vegetables and his father was drunk sitting on the furniture, shouting plagues at his mother Sofia, his mother, he just sneered at him and went on to greet her in the kitchen, she had a red cheek, it was obvious that he had beaten her and was crying, The anger rose up quickly and he stood up in front of his father like a man and shouted at him that he would never touch his mother again while he was alive, Alonso stopped suddenly dizzying from the effect of alcohol, threw the bottle in his face, failing miserably, Juan laughed in his face "you give me pity", he said to him with hatred, when he heard this he went over to hit him with what he had left of his strength, Juan took it off and gave her the first right hand to her face, she was furious with it releasing all the anger accumulated over so many years, Sofia had to get in so that her son did not get his hands dirty, Juan kicked him out of the house and she just hugged her son in the middle of sobs, as the days passed when Alonso returned home and she had all her things ready and did not let him in, When he wanted to raise his voice to him Juan looked at the door with seriousness and his father, who had never shown himself to be so, just picked up the two suitcases from the floor and left with his face down, that day that family of only two came out with effort but free from that terrible bondage.

It is sad to read stories like that, and to know that many families are going through that situation, we should never allow any kind of physical or psychological violence, respect must always exist, and if there is no respect it is better to leave before it is too late.
