Primitive and aggressive, male dominated social structures

in #writing6 years ago

People are not irrational automata, but rather their behaviour is the result of decision processes with a cost-benefit structure that instantiates age, sex, and circumstance-specific valuations of various classes of material and social goods.

Understanding how behavioural control mechanisms have been organized to adapt to our ancestral environments allows us to see relevant variables and processes.

Algorithms represent information processing routines. They help direct attentional mechanisms and are the evaluative and reasoning modules; that is how information is evaluated vis-a-vis the goal that is being pursued.
Typical algorithms are concerned with proximity-distance, reciprocation and detection of cheating, social comparisons (for instance, of same-different as in in-group-out-group and inferior-superior as in ranking).

Capitalistic systems stress differences between people with specific function of ranking them in terms of ability to exert control over resources.
Under this system of values males become preoccupied with showing they can meet challenges and beat opponents, be this on the street or stock market. This attribute is one of the most valued by the capitalistic system.
Capitalistic economics are only concerned with winners and losers, creating purposeful conflict. These values are internalized. Thus society is split into "haves" and "have nots". And the "have nots" tend to collapse into more primitive and aggressive, male dominated social structures.
