How quickly the tables can turn!
I've read something about how literary battles need to be certain ways - especially since the reader tends to love an underdog. But I don't see the A'mara as being overconfident like that. I see them as taking appropriate precautions and not often being caught in a precarious position.
The Uugli do have the disadvantage when it comes to numbers, but they have the advantage of secrecy. Plus, of course, when it comes to allowing negative emotions to fuel you, it does make them stronger - at least when it comes to fighting. An ambush will always have a certain impact...
But then... so does defending home territory and loved ones.
Shame that the Uugli have managed to grab Denica though. Zarma is hurting - this is her former chola they've grabbed.
