Dolby Vision is perceived as a better technology than HDR10 technology
Microsoft is preparing to add support for Dolby Vision to Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles, we learn from The Verge. In this way, the company's consoles are joining the growing number of devices that support this technology. These include Apple TV 4K and Google Chromecast Ultra.

Microsoft is currently testing Dolby Vision with Xbox Insider users, and functionality is limited to application streaming. The Netflix platform was among the first with Dolby Vision for Xbox One S and Xbox One X, and it is not yet clear whether Microsoft plans to extend Blu-ray disc cover.

Dolby Vision is perceived as a better technology than the HDR10 technology currently supported by Xbox One. The technology adjusts the brightness and color of scenes with metadata and supports up to 12-bit color depth as well as higher maximum brightness than HDR10.

The main competitive console, the Sony PlayStation 4 still does not have full support for Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision.
