What is a "Stake"?

What is a stake?

()

If this digital representation of a steak makes you hungry, then you may not have eaten enough at your last meal. Anyways, I think you'll be hungry for some of this information about what is frequently called staking. Some day the knowledge/awareness of such opportunities may help you buy as many of these as you wish.

Proof of Stake allows a token holder to vest their tokens in exchange for rewards. Essentially, the more tokens you stake, the larger your entitlement will be when staking payouts occur. (Source - Buildteam; link at bottom) Emphasis added.

Who is a stakeholder?

A stakeholder is therefore, one who holds the position of supporting the network by investing in the enterprise. So now we know that a stakeholder is one who "vests" something of value (Yensesa tokens for example) with an enterprise.

Have you every wondered where the steem rewards come from? That is curated by those who have staked their steem to "power up". In other words, the whales of Steem. One innovation that steem offers is better aligning the incentives of the stakeholders and the users on the platform. It is definitely a step in the right direction. But can we do better?

One thing to keep in mind when considering proof of stake investing opportunities is that you should expect to receive your tokens after some "vesting" period. Always remember to read the fine print. A good DAC will make vesting a breeze for the user.

Until next time,
JR

Just loved this - now got me thinking of 'proof-of-steak' as whole new way of expressing ones financial freedom - if you've got 'proof-of-steak' that is you are proven to have the ability to go out for steak every single day! Life goals ...

So how do I stake the Yensesa tokens I have. I currently have about 30 ( 10 in trusty wallet and 20 in BTS wallet).
