Depending on the the occasion, I will make conscious serving decisions that will include the choice of plates and cutlery. Tasteful choices are needed when making these decisions and keeping in mind the guest preferences is always a good idea.

For a younger set of guests such as young children I will opt for more colourful choices while a classic and simple setting will be selected for the mature diners. In addition to aesthetics, the attention to plating something in a timely manner. No matter how long I wold have to wait for a meal, if it arrived cold after plating then there is definitely something going wrong. For cold dishes this is not such a big issue but for warm cooked meals they need to be served as intended and sometimes rapidly for the sizzling hot effect. Having the right balance of time and presentation is most important in the art of cooking.
