Travelgirl Budgeting For Steem Fest 2019

Hi Everyone,

As Steem Fest will be in Thailand this year, the flight from Australia will be a shorter one though it is still pretty far (8hrs) as we are just too far from everyone else in the world. I was hoping it will be in Australia this year but knowing the probability will be 0.01%, having in Asia would be the next best destination for me. Let's have a look at how the budgeting looks so far ....

Flights - this time I am claiming my whole trip using frequent flyer points. As I will be going to Japan afterward, that flight will also be covered which is pretty awesome. 85k points + $555

Hotel - I’ll be staying at the recommend Prince Hotel to save the hassle of going around the town for the conferences. Also, the hotel does look pretty good for the price so decided to book that in - approx $250aud for my share for the room.

Steem Fest ticket - cry this year I was banking on using Steem or Sbd to pay for the tickets but Steem prices are dropping every day. A year ago, Steem was still at a healthy level but as of today, it has dropped under 20c cry again. I do hope I can win a ticket from or maybe another avenue or else I will have to buy a ticket before the prices rise at the end of August. - Approx $750AUD (hope I win a ticket from @knozaki2015 ^.^)

Spending Money - Thailand is a lot cheaper than Sydney so I don’t expect to spend more than my daily needs compared to at home. I probably splurge or a few nice massages as it is pretty expensive back in Sydney so that will be it

You may wonder will my family come with me this time? Haha no! My other half can’t imagine himself taking the kids are busy Bangkok all by himself plus the humidity he rather stay at home. So yep kids free holiday!!!! Wohoooooo
