MY TOWN IN 10 PICS (with What3Words)

in #burnsteem2513 days ago (edited)

I tried searching for #mytownin10pics and couldn't find anything. Then I looked for #mytown10pics still nothing. I kept looking and looking for post under #town #pics #mytown but all in vain.

What happened guys? Why did you all stop posting your town in 10 pics? It was one of the best ways I used to engage with people from all over the world. To see what goes on Nigeria, or Sri Lanka or India, all from sitting at my home, this used to be an amazing Series in which we used to ineract with each other.

Then, I thought how about I start posting mytown10pics and the people will follow. Sometimes users need someone to lead them about something they're not sure about and I'm ready to play this role. With other initiatives that I have started recently, this is another addition to my list. Let's look at Mytown10pics

Wagha border stands tall as ever between two nations, Pakistan and India. It holds a lot of significance to both the countries as hundreds and thousands of people visit this border EVERYDAY to witness the border parade. The flag lowering ceremony takes everyday in evening at this border.

It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Lahore. It is a cultural hub between two nations who are sort of hostile towards each other.

Baab e Azadi, also known as the Gate of Freedom, stands prominently in Lahore, symbolizing the collective struggle for independence from the British Empire in 1947. It holds significant emotional importance for Pakistanis and is a popular destination in Lahore.

The term "Baab-e-Azadi" embodies not just the Indian context but also the universal quest for liberation and self-rule, reflecting humanity's enduring longing for freedom and its ability to persevere against oppression.

The Lahore Fort, a rare UNESCO World Heritage site in Pakistan, is truly magnificent. Exploring its entirety from within might require 3-4 hours. I covered a huge chunk of fortress from inside but I still think, i might have missed a couple of places. Will share about the Lahore Fort in a separate post.

Constructed by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century, its imposing presence is awe-inspiring. Surrounded by imposing walls, the fort contains palaces, gardens, mosques, and notable structures like the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors) and Naulakha Pavilion. Its architecture blends Persian, Turkish, and local styles, adorned with detailed marble work, colorful frescoes, and intricate carvings. The Lahore Fort stands as a testament to Pakistan's rich heritage and cultural diversity

Built by King Aurangzeb in thr year 1673, Badshahi masjid is truly a work of magic. Do you know if you whisper something in a pillar at the end of a mosque, you will hear that whisper hundreds of meters away in this mosque. The architectural work is a work of some magician. Mind boggling isnt it?

As one of the largest mosques in the world, it can accommodate over 55,000 worshippers. The Badshahi Mosque stands not only as a symbol of religious devotion but also as a testament to the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the Mughal Empire.

One of the most unique places I have witnessed in Pakistan. Haveli Restaurant is situated within an intricately designed haveli, or mansion, the restaurant exudes old-world charm with its ornate architecture, intricate woodwork, and vintage decor. The live music shows and qawalis there give off the vibes of pre partition Pakistan.

The walled city of Lahore is work of wonder, mainly because it's still kept in it's original condition as built by the Mughal Empire. A lot of these places were used by the British as Garrisons, Army centers etc.

That's me, my dad, and an army personnel giving us a tour of this flag. How did this happen, it's a story of another day and I assure you I'll post it here.

Pakistan is a really emotional country when it comes to patriotism, so hoisting huge flags is not new to us.

One of the best places for a family to have some quality time. This park is the Ultima definition of peace and serenity with huge trees providing us shades, a golf course at the end of the park and a small pond created to make it even more beautiful.

What do you do when it rains? You sit back and let it rain. It was one of the best days in my life to witness this peaceful rain in the Shakarparian Park. It is located a bit far from the central city so that you feel freshness in the park.

I love standing in a warm summer rain and watching nature come alive... (except when my hair is freshly coloured and all the red is threatening to rub off... ;-)))

You'll find a lot more of this in Pakistan.

Ps: how about to you come bakpacking to Pakistan? I promise to be a good host ;-))

That's a magical idea. But I'm afraid that with the future farm full of animals that need to be looked after, my time of travelling is over... I regret that, because it's part of me to be on the road. But - I'm looking forward to this new way of life.

Upvoted. Thank You for sending some of your rewards to @null. It will make Steem stronger.
