Reporting from the words of the People of East Kalimantan, this folk tale tells the story of La Dana, a farmer's child who was famous for his ingenuity. However, his intelligence is sometimes used to deceive people and become cunning.
At that time, La Dana was invited to attend a death party with her friends. In Tana Toraja tradition, every guest present will be given buffalo meat. At that time, La Dana's friends and opponents got almost all parts of the buffalo except for the hind legs. However, La Dana only got the buffalo's hind legs.
Using his wits, La Dana invited his friend to combine the meat and exchange it for a live buffalo. He invited them on the grounds that they could raise the buffalo until it was fat before being slaughtered later.
This live buffalo is also kept by La Dana's friend. La Dana really wanted to get the buffalo. To get it, he uses his cunning. He would bother his friends and always ask when the buffalo would be slaughtered. His friend, who was annoyed because he was constantly being disturbed, told La Dana to take the buffalo. Finally, La Dana got the fat buffalo alive from her friend. La Dana's friend didn't know at all that they had been tricked by La Dana. After keeping the buffalo for some time, finally La Dana didn't slaughter it because the buffalo was getting worse day by day. As he grew older, he fell in love with the buffalo. After his friends found out, they were very disappointed with Dana's attitude.
