**SEC17 WK: #4: the effect of economic hardships on families**
Greetings to all Steemians,
How are you guys doing today? I hope everythings are moving fine with you guys? If that is right then glory be to God almighty.
It is a thing of great joy and opportunity for me to participate in this very contest to shear the ongoing hardships that my self and my family have been passing through all this while in Nigeria as a result of the economic challenges presently going on in the country.
EFFECTS OF ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS ON MY FAMILY
It is very unfortunate that the government of the day is a bad government and they are sets of selfish elites that controls things to their favor instead of the benefit of the generality of the people.
Our Nigerian government has become another thing else now in this dispensation, before now, things were hard but not too hard, as from the second tenor of the formal president buhari's administration, the hardship in Nigeria became intense.
The worst of all is the policy of the incubent president of Nigeria, ever since president Tinubu assumed power since may last year, the very day of his innugeration, he announced the removal of fuel subsidy which has transform the hardship of the poor Nigerians from frying palm to fire.
Fuel that is sold at #350 jumped to #700 and currently #1000
Mudu of rice that we use to buy #500 jumped to #1,000 and currently #2000
And the transportation from Abuja to my village jumped from #3,500 to 8,000 and currently #10,000.
As you all know life cannot go on well without money, and Money plays a very important role in the life of an individual, so without money life is hard, so, things became so hard to me and my family members because my salary is just #30,000 and I have alots of needs to take care of and not only food.
Because of this intensed hardship, that I can no longer afford sufficient food for my family again, we are noweating once in a day presently.
Every morning there is no brakefast , we always endure till 3:30pm then, we cooked and eat for the day and drink alots of water to feel well, and if we try to eat twice any day, the food for the next day is aways a war. Hmmmmm infact, my family and I are always passing through hell presently dear Steemians.
The worst of all that has made my family unstable presently is my brother's health condition of kidney failure
My heart bleeds for my elder brother all the time now because of his health challenge of kidney failure. This has become so boring because of the present Economic challenges, he undergoes dialysis twice in a week and just a session of the dialysis is #40,000.
Ever since 2022 that he began dialysis, a session of it was #33,000 but now it is #40, 000, this his case has become more unbearable for my brother due to the present Economic hardships we are all passing through in my family right now.

Doctors has advised us for transplant but there
Is no money for us to do the transplant, and the doctor still told my last week that the transplant is no longer 20 million but now 23 million because of the current economic challenges too.
Fellow Steemians, this transplant is cost over 60,000 steem, please I beg you guys to assist my brother so that he could get the transplant done.

Dear @ameh123, we are always ready to help to the best of our ability. However, we are hesitant in your case because you are avoiding the questions of our friend @wakeupkitty. Doesn't make the best impression, if you know what I mean... Be so kind and give us an update on your brother's condition and treatment! We don't want to leave you alone, but we need some proof for our donors.
Though I didn't intentionally refused to answer his question. Is just that my attention was not drawn to that his question that was why I didn't reply him on time as expected. Though I have just replied him.
Brother, I am at Abuja if you want authenticity of my brother's condition we can see here the you behold the experience that my brother has been passing through all this while since 2022 till now. I can't lie like that. Not every body are scammers, moreover, I can't do that just because of money....
Hello and thank you for your reply, also for the one to @wakeupkitty. It is eloquent and understandable. Unfortunately, it is also not very specific... Look - we are certainly not coming from Germany to Nigeria to convince ourselves that everything is right. You're not a scammer, you say: I want to believe you. Because there are too many of them. Since you are the one asking for help, it would be comparatively easy for you to prove the current state of affairs to us. It's okay if you don't want to do that. But it's just as okay if we pull back.
Not like that, my brother is still on dialysis, I even said it in the appreciation post I made, besides it has not been long the little help of 30 steem was given to me. And I even said it in the post that I withdrew the steem to complete one session of dialysis that day because we have no money again...so I wonder why he is attacking me as if I am not truthful.
Nobody is attacking you. We ask - in a friendly and explanatory manner - for current prescriptions, doctor's letters and bills. Emphasis: current. Many Steemians, even the big accounts, are willing to get involved and really help. If they are convinced of a problematic situation and it is not simply claimed.
I have contacted schools regarding donation requests and asked about the plausibility of the descriptions given, written to doctors and always examined current photos. This is evidence that convinces donors and sponsors.
And this is how I understand my responsibility towards these donors.
Ok. I used those pictures because they are the very ones I had in my phone that time. Truly they are not recent. I will try to get his recent pictures on dialysis by going to the hospital with him. Thanks I appreciate.
If you have to pay for dialysis regularly, you will receive bills. A cost estimate for the transplant. Show me something like this. You don't have to put your brother on public display unnecessarily.
Dear @ameh123 , I read all the comments and it seems the thing has gone beyond my expectations. First of all, you really need to understand what Smile Nigeria is and mostly about the World Smile Project. Anything supported by World Smile must be transparent and publicly auditable. It is my responsibility to make the update, hence, that the public can see its progress. But lately, it has become a bit weird to me when you argue with those who have supported you instead of answering the question properly.
As you said in the first post your brother needs to have dialysis twice a week which means you can at least have 2 new updated pictures a week showing us how it was going instead of posting the same picture in your 3 posts.
It does not need for you to go to the hospital since your first pictures were also taken from WhatsApp messages as well, you can openly tell your family that you are trying to get some help from the steemit community, and that way you can have pictures and show it publicly.
I suggest you update it properly, for it is using a charity account to support you and influence some other users who have supported you in many ways possible.
It is not a proper way to reply to a comment, and No one says you are a scammer, but they just want to know your brother's condition and want to help.
If you are not willing to tell us about it, it is all up to you then, but World Smile or Other steemian will think twice before supporting you again.

Dear @ameh123, I want you to know that no one is against you here, but if you said that your brother is in a critical condition and you need support from the Steemit community, then do what is right by updating the Steemit community, with recent pictures of your brother health and not with old pictures is all that is required of you.

I also noticed you removed my name from your list. Is this because I asked for a real update?
Is this because the letters you showed in your earlier post are from 2022 and 2023 (10 months old) and I told you the doctor can't be found in the Zenith centre?
How come you refuse to answer? Don't you think you already should show how grateful you are after the help you received? A normal thing to do would be showing a real update and photos of your brother.
This time you added text about the government. For your info many of us deal with corruptcy and poverty and this info plus your refuse to answer me and you no longer mentioning me sounds suspicious to me.

@wakeupkitty, this post I made is a contest on steemkidss community, on the effect of economic hardships on families. That is why I included government issues and talking about the situation my family is currently passing through in the midst of the economic hardships.
Try and read through you will know what am talking about.
For your question, like I have just replied you, honestly my attention was not drawn to that your question if not why will I not be able to tell you what I am sure of? This is the condition that is also affecting my personal progress in life as his younger brother.
The letters I posted are very real and they were given by doctors, the one carrying 2022 is the form hospital of the kidney failure, remember I said I my first post that it started 2022. And the other letter is a backings for zenith medical and kidney center for people to help my brother who undergoes dialysis twice a week, it it easy?
Your major concern is that why didn't I get new letter from the doctor, but the letter is for my brother and he is still on dialysis from 2022 till now.
It is just that the letters are not of 2024 but I have said it earlier that the case started since 2022.
So sorry for not replying your post on time my attention was not drawn to that very question.
Please I you really want to confirmed the authenticity of my post, then we can meet in Abuja here and you will see physically the horoic experience of my brother.

You wrote your brother is seriously ill, twice a week dialyses. I told you my friend had dialysis 3x per week, still one good day per week without traveling, hospital and being tired.
I assume your brother comes home and he and his family do not live in hospital.
You wrote in your diary you were on facebook because you were bored and also your brother's wife cooked for you! I asked about your family, no response.
I noticed if people leave a caring comment all you answer is: please send me money/help me.
So while you are bored on Facebook and your brother's wife cooks your food I wonder Why is it so damned hard to make a few photos of your brother?
Since your brother has dialysis for nearly two years he has a shunt and has had most likely during all those months more than one. Photos of his arms, perhaps his neck/breast with this shunt are a good start too.

You all live underneath the same roof and he lives a normal life, one with dialysis twice a week. Some photos are easily taken and it consumes less energy than writing long comments where you keep repeating the same phrases and avoiding to answer.

Things are really hard presently and I agree with, because the price of things in Nigeria has skyrocketed to a higher level which no one without money can afford. I feel your pain especially because of your brother's health condition , which it's treatment is very costly I pray that God heals him and that He gives you the money to support him.

I am very sorry for your brother, I understand your situation that how are you feeling now. I had same experience in 2017 where my mom got admitted in hospital and we had to spend 30 k steem and we are still in debt. God bless you .

No bro, She survived for 3 months and her condition was really bad and doctors were like robbers, costly rooms, costly treatment, costly medical bills were killing our whole savings but in return my mom was not recovering and after 3 months , 18 January 2018 morning 3-5 am around she has been passed away . We did not know when did she die because we were sleeping so we don't have idea about her death time. It was worst time and I can not forget

This economic meltdown has made the income of workers become useless in the sight of billings. Imagine billing becoming greater than the income itself.
How can an employee spend 70% of his or her income on Transportation. At this point, what will that individual have to survive? I hope this issue should be looked into thoroughly. Good luck on your entry.
